Friend Share Deal Reveal App


The Friend Share Deal Reveal tool builds upon the successful Friend Share app and is designed to help social marketers empower their fans to share with a friend in order to access a deal.  

The Premium App engages the fan to take action to get the deal offer, incorporates a unique friend list tool for easy access to friend sharing, and allows the fan to post a message direct to a friend's News Feed. The clicks and actions by those shared with tend to be higher since the messages comes from the trusted friend.


  • Deal information is on landing tab or web page.  Upon successful share to friends the deal is then revealed to the fan
  • Like all TabSite apps, there is ability to customize to any language
  • Tracking metrics of who shared, how many they shared with, and total shares allows Page Admins to identify the top sharer and export this data 
  • Ability for the deal to be set for certain time period 
  • Ability to turn on a name and e-mail address lead capture on the deal revealed page.  With export of this data available as well.

Friend Share Deal Reveal is available as a Premium App for use on a website, blog, Facebook Page, or both!  

Note: A fan can share with ONE friend at a time.  This is needed to comply with Facebook anti-spam policies.  After sharing, the fan can share with another friend if they wish.  It is simply one share to one friend at a time.  As well, it is required by Facebook that the Friend Share Deal Reveal have a skip button so that sharing is not the only method to access the deal. This is needed to comply with Facebook anti-spam policies and promotions using Facebook features.  After sharing, the fan can share with another friend if they wish.  It is simply one share to one friend at a time.


Step 1: Make certain you are on the Manager section and select the Add App tab.


Step 2: Then, scroll down the page and stop at the Coupon Apps section. Look for the Friend Share Deal Reveal App and click the Add+ button.


After pressing the Add+ button, you will be taken to the App builder page. The page contains 5 sub-settings specifically Friend Share Deal Settings, Share Images, Sign-up Form, Thank You Message and Sharing Options.


Step 3: The first sub-setting is the Friend Share Deal Settings. The sub-setting gives you the chance to adjust the limits on the number of your offered deals and its expiration date. You can also assign your current time zone.


Step 4: The second sub-setting for the App Builder. There are 3 images to upload in this section: The Instuction Image, After Shared Image and Promotion Over Image. Each of the image that will be uploaded has a recommended dimension of 810 x 530 pixels.

The Instruction Image enables you to upload an image instructing your visitors to share the page. Conversely, the After Shared Image lets the visitors who have previously shared the image understand the details of the promo. Finally, the Promotion Over Image enables visitors to know when the promo will expire or if the limit has already been reached. On the blank fields located below each uploading area, you can optionally add your preferred destination URL.  


Step 5: The Sign-Up Form is the third sub-setting of App Builder. The other options underneath will only display if you check the enable button. This form is utilized to capture and export user information. The form appears on the screen after sharing the information of the promo. Additionally, the box that displays this option lets you incorporate some elements to your sign-up form and the sequence they are to be displayed. These options are the Text area and Image.

The input details include blank fields assigned for First Name, Last Name and Email. The last box for this area is the Button Text where you can modify your preferred text that will reveal to the button.


Step 6: The Thank You Message sub-setting enables you to modify the displayed thank you message after someone has offered the Sign-up form.


Step 7: Modify the title, description and promo image with the sharing options sub-setting that they can use for sharing in social media sites. The ideal input details would be a simple title, attention-grabbing description and the photo that go with the promo's essence.


Step 8: Publish your app to numerous social networking platforms through the use of Facebook settings. All you need to do is enter your fan page, tab name and a tab logo with an ideal image dimension of 111 x 74 pixels.

There is a "Create Your Own Application" button found at the bottom-left corner of the page. It does what its text suggests. The button enables you to key in the App ID and App Secret on the provided blank fields beside the variables after creating the application.


For social media sharing, you can modify your social networking sites with the help of the Promotion Tools. It consists of sub-settings namely Social Sharing Options, Blog/Web Call-out Tool, Post Planning and Comment System.


Step 9: The Social Sharing Options is the first sub-setting of the Promotion Tools. You are able to customize the app with the help of the social networks provided in the page. These social networks comprise of Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Pinterest. The app for these platforms can be placed to your preferred portion of the page. 

Being the site administrator, get in-control of the social networks you are connected to. Do the method of engagement such as the Like and Share of Facebook, pre-set your tweets in Twitter, +1 the posted articles in Google+ and pin your desired images/files with the Pin it button of Pinterest.


Step 10: Create a promotional call-out for your website or blog in the Promotion Tools area and make sure to generate and use the Smart Mobile URL displayed in the box.  Post the Smart URL in all posts on Facebook, Twitter, and elsewhere so that mobile users can access the tab on their mobile phone.


Step 11:  In order to schedule your posts and publish it to your social networks, use one of the three scheduling services offered by the app. The Post Planning sub-setting makes the scheduling of posts achievable. The scheduling services provided by the app encompass Buffer, Sendible and Hootsuite. The displayed Smart URL that can be used for posting is mobile and PC friendly. It directs to your created Facebook tab.


Step 12: Manage your comments using the Comment system sub-setting.  After checking the "Enable Comment System" box, more added options will reveal underneath. These options include "Allow visitors to sign-in to comment via", "Comment Notification Emails", the "Require Comment Approval" checkbox and the Manage Comments button.

The "Allow visitors to sign-in to comment via" option allows either Facebook or Form as the method you will use for posting a comment. To disable the ability to post new comments, simply uncheck both choices to lock the commenting process. On the other hand, you are able to choose whose email addresses you would like to alert anytime a new comment is published using the "Comment Notification Emails" option. The "Require Comment Approval" checkbox and the Manage Comments button don't need further explanations for their purpose are already stated in their texts.                                  


Step 13: The fourth setting on the list is known as Gates. A Like Gate image can be included so that fans would need to like the Fan Page first before getting any access to the Friend Share Deal Reveal main tab of information. When they haven't liked the page yet, the Like Gate image will be displayed to them. If they have already liked it, they can now access the primary content of the tab. The recommended size for the image that can be uploaded is 810 x 810 pixels in any of these formats: jpg, gif or png.


Step 14: The Advanced setting is the fifth section on the list. Upload a 810 x 75 pixel image for your header by either dragging it to the page or browsing it from your computer. Also, the link color, text color, background color and the CSS for your app can be customized. The CSS default styles associated with this app is already provided on the page.


The Language setting is the sixth one on the settings page. It consists of three sub-settings namely Friend Share, General and Comment System.


Step 15: The Friend Share sub-setting is the first one under the Language section. You can customize the texts written below and replace them with your own version. It is comprised of 3 primary field boxes namely Authentication & Notification, Friend Share Box and Deal Download Specific.


Step 16: The second one on the list is the General sub-setting. It consists of two drop-down menus specifically the "Like button language" and "Tweet button language". Numerous international languages are contained in these menus. To change the default input information listed in your Share button text, simply replace it with your desired one to the box beside it.


Step 17: The Comment System of the Language section encompasses two areas: The Language Settings and Errors. Customize your comment system by changing the default texts written beside the variables to your preferred input information. Save the changes later on.


Step 18: The Mobile settings cover two Global Options. These are "Render desktop version on mobile" which enables mobile users to infiltrate the content of the app in a mobile-friendly alternative version and "Use like gate on mobile device" which reveals the same information in the form of a Like Gate image. Note: Mobile difference doesn't work with all apps. 


The Analytics is the last setting of the page. It consist of graphs embodying the various sources of traffic like Overview, Facebook Views, Web Views, Mobile Views, Microsite Views, Shares, Likes and Friend Shares.

Step 19: Make sure to save your work after doing the setting changes by pressing the green button situated at the bottom-right corner of the page.


Step 20: After pressing the "Save" button, the page will be forwarding you to the My Apps tab section. All your created tabs can be viewed here. You are able to add another app, test it and publish it in line with the features of your Plan.

Step 21: Click the "Publish" button to go through the method of publishing your app to your Facebook fan page or to your website.

The fan uses the Friend Share selection tool to select a friend and then a posting box appears to complete as shown below.  The Page Admin has access to setup the title (Special Offer!), thumbnail image, and description (Check out this Bike Deal!) to ensure quality brand messaging.  



After success share with friends minimum is reached the Friend Share Deal is revealed as shown below with optional additional e-mail sign-up for lead capture displayed:
